NATIONAL SEMINAR HELD ON NEP 2020: OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES

The Department of Education, Christ College organised a National Seminar on National Education Policy 2020 - Opportunities and Challenges, sponsored by CMI Saint Pauls Province Bhopal on 21st and 22nd January 2023. The Program commenced with lighting of the lamp followed by welcome address by Rev. Fr. Johnson, Principal, Christ College. A message was then delivered by Rev. Fr. Justin CMI, Provincial, Saint Pauls Province Bhopal, where he appreciated and congratulated the team who organized the seminar and he also laid stress on the importance of teachers training for implementing NEP and the overall progress of students.At the outset of the seminar, Dr. Diwakar, Dr. Pallavi and Ms. Jaya Saini outlined the procedures of the National Seminar and apprised the delegates of the guidlines and expectations. Teachers of St. Paul school and special minutes were also permitted to join the sessions as attendees, to ensure optimum participation and output from the seminar. Navchetana Media Communications, Bhopal and local Correspondents from press covered the proceedings of the National Seminar online paper presentations from various parts of the country and participation by subjective expert / research scholar from almost 13 universities, and live streaming of the complete seminar all available digital technology made the seminar a huge success. Keynote address was delivered by Professor Ramesh Babu, Head of the Education Department, Regional Institute of Education, Bhopal. After the break technical session I started in which 10 papers were presented and the technical expert was Dr F. S. Khan, Assistant Professor, IASE. After the lunch break II technical session commenced where 9 papers were presented and the technical expert was Dr. Neeti Dutta, Associate Professor, MANUU. Day II began with technical session which was chaired by Professor Pushpendra Pal Singh; 8 papers were presented in this technical session. In the last technical session the Expert was Dr. Indrajeet Dutta, Assistant Professor, Department of Education, MANUU, and in this session 7 papers were presented. The National seminar included a total of 42 research papers out of which 34 were presented in the National Seminar. These research papers came from three Union Territories and nine States, such as Delhi, Puducherry, Jammu and Kashmir, Kerala, Karnataka, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Bihar and West Bengal. The coordinator of the seminar was Dr. Diwakar Singh, Associate Professor, Christ College and the co- coordinators of the National Seminar were Dr. Pallavi Shrivastava Sinha, Associate Professor and Jaya Saini, Assistant Professor. The topics covered in the National Seminar included: Early Childhood Care, Education and Educational foundation of Learning, Universal access to education at all level, New curricular and pedagogical structure, Equitable and inclusive education, Foundation literacy and numeric, Multi discipline disciplinarily and Holistic education, Parental role in promoting learning environment, Creativity and critical thinking, Experience learning, Examination reforms, Adult Education and lifelong learning, Technology based teaching & learning and Digitalization of education, Vocationalization of education, Examination reforms, Teacher education, Professional education, Resourcing and effective governance, Affordability and quality education for all, Role of governing body in implementing NEP 2020 Promotion of language, art and culture, Integrating Indian culture and knowledge system, Research as co requisite of quality education and other relevant themes. The seminar was attended by more than 100 participants. Overall it was a very successful and fruitful for everyone and a landmark event for christ college endeavor.
