Orientation Programmes


An Orientation Programme on New B. Ed. Syllabus & NCFTE 2009

The College organized One Day Orientation Programme on Two Year B.Ed. Curriculum and NCFTE 2009 on 10th September 2015. The venue was the Multi Purpose Hall of the college. The fee for students including registration and lunch was 400/- only. The Brochure of this National Workshop was sent to all the educational institutes of Bhopal City through Mail and personally through the faculty members of the college. B.Ed. students were the volunteers for this event. The Orientation Programme started off with a Inaugural Function with a prayer song followed by the lighting of the lamp, introduction and welcome address by Dr. Fr. Johnson S.V. Principal of the College, Seminar dynamics by Fr. Peter and Dr. Preeti Shrivastava and concluded with vote of thanks by Mrs. Rony Joy.

The Objectives of the Programme were :

  • To familiarize with the B.Ed. two year curriculum
  • To get familiarize with the approach to be adopted for the two year curriculum
  • To acquaint with the weightage given to theory and practicum
  • To acquaint with recent recommendations made by the National Curriculum Framework for Teacher Education (NCFTE-2009)

About the Programme

For a complete development of the student teacher; particularly in knowledge and skills; in individual care of the learner and also in methods and evaluation designed to facilitate learning, NCTE and NCERT introduced two year B.Ed. curriculum. From 2015 onwards the B.Ed. course will be of two years (4 Semesters).

The B.Ed. curriculum will promote quality concerns at Secondary Education level and will be in tune with the recent recommendations made by the National Curriculum Framework for Teacher Education (NCFTE-2009), Government of India and recent developments that emerged in the field of Teacher Education globally. The B.Ed. Curriculum 2015-17 lays stress on competency building among B.Ed. students at Secondary School Level with a shift from conventional teacher-centeredness to learner Centeredness.
